FIRM BIOGRAPHY

Joel Lazovitz, Esq. has passionately and effectively represented clients in the commercial real estate business for years, previously at law firms and most recently at Guggenheim Partners, a multibillion-dollar asset manager.

Before practicing law, Mr. Lazovitz worked as an in-house legal consultant for a private real estate company in the Philadelphia area that continues to excel. He then worked as a commercial mortgage broker with Meridian Capital Group in New York, finding success during 2008 and 2009, the most challenging period in the real estate capital markets since the Great Depression. He stuck with the real estate business in the face of these challenges.

He began his career as an attorney by building a strong foundation in litigation by litigating business disputes in the courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. As he developed experience, Mr. Lazovitz transitioned to a transactional real estate practice, representing clients in purchases, sales, leasing, and litigation. Most recently, he was in-house counsel representing an asset manager in its origination of real estate and corporate loans, and occasionally workout of, non-performing real estate loans.

Mr. Lazovitz has represented lenders and borrowers in commercial real estate transactions which have ranged in size from over $100 million to less than $1 million. And he has represented business owners, generally owners of commercial real estate, in their litigation matters.

When he is not practicing law, Mr. Lazovitz enjoys spending time pursuing his own real estate business, which is currently developing a multifamily property in Center City Philadelphia.  He is grateful to be the father of a son and daughter, and the husband of a physician who practices in the Philadelphia suburbs. He is a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, particularly of the Eagles, where he developed the passion for football that led him to play a season of college football.
